If you want to keep up with UK developments to support OA & the next REF, here are 2 new blogs to watch:
CRC Blog (Centre for Research Communications) launched this month to provide updates on all the SHERPA Services (RoMEO, JULIET, OpenDOAR and FACT) and projects (SHERPA/REF, OARR and JoRD).
JISC Router, about the project which aims to enable feeds from publisher systems to institutional repositories.
JISC already have a couple of useful blogs reporting on their OA activity:
JISC Open Access Good Practice – developing ‘shareable models of good practice with regard to implementation of research funders’ OA requirements’ (and the related blogs from universities involved in JISC Pathfinder projects.)
JISC Scholarly Communications – for handy summaries of all the above.
For wider news you could subscribe to a news feed of items tagged by the Open Access Tracking Project (OATP), set up by Peter Suber (see it in action on our News page). And SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition, is good for both background info & initiatives in OA.
